Merchandise

Want to share your love of The Ark? Our online merch store is open! Wear the logo of a musical institution that got started back when T-shirts came only in white. The Ark offers a revolving selection of apparel to show your love of live music and The Ark. We’re also proud to offer glasses, tumblers and mugs for your beverage needs, and more!

Want to use an Ark gift certificate towards merchandise in our online store? Email merchandise@theark.org prior to placing your order for processing.

Gift Certificates

Ark gift certificates are available in any dollar amount and can be redeemed for tickets, concessions, Ark merchandise or memberships. Gift certificates are valid for tickets to Ark-produced shows that take place at The Ark only (occasionally a show is presented by an outside producer or at a venue other than The Ark). Certificates can be redeemed for tickets at The Ark box office between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm (7:30 pm and 8:30 pm Sundays) on nights when The Ark is open. Certificates can be used toward concessions, memberships, or Ark merchandise purchases whenever we are open for a show.

Gift certificates can be purchased in person at The Ark’s box office on evenings that we are open for a show. You may also purchase an e-gift voucher online and have it sent to you or directly to your recipient’s email. They can also be purchased by phone with a credit card through the Ark office during business hours and sent electronically, or mailed the next business day. Call (734) 761-1800.

The Ark no longer sells paper gift certificates. If you have a paper gift certificate, it is still valid and can be redeemed for tickets or converted to a plastic gift certificate in person or by mail.

Please treat your Ark gift certificate like cash. Cannot be traced if lost or stolen. Not redeemable for cash. Not valid for sold-out shows or artist merchandise.

Who’s Played at The Ark?

The Ark is committed to presenting performers throughout the entire arc of their career. We introduce emerging artists and celebrate acoustic music’s elite.

Folk Festival

Get ready to find your folk! The Ann Arbor Folk Festival is a two-night extravaganza in late January, showcasing up-and-coming artists, a few veterans you may have missed, and headlining acts.

Fall Fundraiser

Want to hear some great music (and eat some great food!) and kick your support for The Ark up a notch? The Ark’s annual Fall Fundraiser brings favorite artists to the club for a concert and a big party.

Open Stage

Whether you’re looking for your big break, want to perfect your live performance skills, or just want to perform live for the sheer fun, Open Stage nights at The Ark offer wonderful, warm audiences and a terrific stage on which to play.

Student Welcome Show

The Ark welcomes students back to Ann Arbor each Fall with a free show featuring an up and coming artist. This annual event is free to students with any valid student ID (high school, college, local, and out-of-state). The student show performer is highlighted at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival the following January.

Concert Sound Production Course

If you’ve ever had the urge to get behind the sound board, these classes are for you! Led by veteran audio engineer Kaia Skaggs, the fundamentals of audio production will be covered through a combination of lecture and a few hands-on exercises.

Educational Programming

Over the past five years The Ark has been developing new educational initiatives based on community needs and interests. The main focus has been Common Chords: Telling America’s Story Through Music and Cultural Expression.

Through the generous support of the Ford Motor Company Fund, over the past five years The Ark has presented Common Chords to over 1,300 4th and 5th graders and chaperones from schools in Goodrich, Waterford, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Plymouth, Southfield, Madison Heights and Detroit. The 60-minute program teaches about American history, diversity and music.  Participating teachers give the program high ratings for enriching students’ spirits, increasing students’ knowledge of American music and culture, and teaching children how to be good audience members.

Storytelling Festival

The Ark’s annual Storytelling Festival is a two-day celebration of the art of the tale, a well-loved journey to the land of the mind’s eye. The Storytelling Festival is an event for all ages, building the next generation of tellers and hearers in a unique way.
