”…re-imagining the folk aesthetic with a devastatingly soft brush…”
Jeff Milo, ECURRENT MAGAZINE
Avid lyricist and “think piece” composer Chris DuPont hails from the quirky and eclectic Ypsilanti, Michigan, and is a seasoned veteran of the midwest music scene. His hybrid finger-style approach to guitar-playing is a nod to classical minimalism, but sure to get you nodding your head too. Chris is influenced by a wide range of artists and composers from Philip Glass to Tycho, from James Taylor to Ryan Adams to Oh Wonder.
Chris’s newest work (Floodplains, debuting Fall 2019) is an enchanted tour of memory—how it fascinates, and how it is flawed. Retaining his contemplative outlook and characteristically moral center, Floodplains sees DuPont’s writing voice explode into maturity, resulting in an album that is challenging, uplifting, and continually unfolding with each listen.
