Pulp Magazine Online describes Michigan-based artist Judy Banker as "a premier songwriter with universal appeal. A singular talent and stage presence, her music organic and soul-driven." Judy takes her songwriting and artistic vision to a new level of sophistication and arrangement with the release of her third album, "Buffalo Motel," a 12-song journey into the deep tissue connections and tensions that are part of enduring love, heartbreak, and renewal. These are themes Judy also explored in her two previous albums of original songs, "Without You" (2014) and "Devils Never Cry" (2016), where she drew closely on 60’s folk/roots influences, blended with her signature contemporary lyrical and melodic twists. While remaining true to her unique melodic and lyrical style, "Buffalo Motel" takes place on a broader sonic landscape with gritty electric blues-rock instrumentation and driving percussion on tunes like the wrenching "Haggerty" as well as spacious instrumental and vocal layering on tunes like "Cry, Cry, Cry" and "Morning Prayer."
