Country noir from Britain
Holly Macve was born in Ireland but raised in Yorkshire, England, by a classical composer grandfather and a record-collector mother. She sang possibly even before she could talk. Holly cut her teeth in Brighton, England, and left for the U.S. after performing at SXSW in 2016. She released her debut album, Golden Eagle, in 2017 when she was just 21. Holly's music ranges from yodeling to devastating ballads to a kind of country noir. Allmusic likens her to a "yodeling Lana Del Rey," and we think you'll find there's a lot to this British newcomer.
