New duo music from an Americana power couple
Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, both superb songwriters and treasures of the Texas alternative country scene, joined forces personally when they married in 1996. They're parents of four children, including a pair of twins. Bruce and Kelly have made classic albums separately, and each one has put songs atop the country charts for others (including Bruce's heart-rending "Travelin' Soldier" for The Dixie Chicks). From time to time they join forces, and their new collaboration, "Beautiful Lie," has been earning raves. The music they make together has a strong traditionalist tint that evokes classic country dance halls and some of the great duets in country history, duets like Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris who understood each other's every move. We haven't heard either Bruce or Kelly at The Ark for a while, so this is a rare, not-to-miss treat.
