"The sheer visceral energy ... could kickstart an entire economy."
Irish artist Wallis Bird has been enrapturing audiences for over a decade. Nominated for a Choice Music Prize at home in 2017, she’s also been making big waves in mainland Europe. The same year saw her win the 2017 Deutsche Musikautorenpreis—a national award chosen by composers and awarded to their peers - a huge achievement for a non-German. Now based in Berlin, Bird has toured the world. Her irrepressible energy on stage is one of her trademark. In 2016, she played a 12-hour free gig in aid of refugee charities in Berlin, even finding enough strength to play an encore. Never your average troubadour, Wallis already has two Meteor Awards (National Irish Music Prize) to her name, as well as a previous Choice nomination, and has toured with the likes of Rodrigo y Gabriela, Billy Bragg, The Gossip, and Emilliana Torrini. Though you might not catch another 12-hour show anytime soon, you can be sure that few can enchant an audience the way she can.
This show is FREE! Nonperishables (and cash) are accepted at the show for Food Gatherers.
