A tribute to Otis Rush and more

Description

George Bedard presents the seventh installment of his magisterial “History of American Music” series! The first  set will be a tribute to one of the greats of the blues, Otis Rush, who died in 2018. Says George: "Of all the post-B.B. King blues singer/guitarists, Otis Rush best combined the stark emotional intensity of the deep Delta blues with the modern styles. Rush was a huge influence on the first generation of British blues guitarists such as Eric Clapton and Peter Greene. He never fully achieved the success he deserved, but for me he has always been an inspiration.: Set two will explore the rich musical heritage of New Orleans, from early jazz to rhythm &blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and funk. :Journeying from Louis Armstrong  to the Neville Brothers in one set might sound crazy, but we’ll give it a shot. There is so much great music to mine from it’ll be hard to pare it down,” George says. Joining George Bedard will be the Kingpins, drummer Rich Dishman and bassist Pat Prouty, along with the great pianist Mark “Mr B” Braun, and other special guests TBA.
