SUMMARY:Mustard's Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nMay 1975. It seemed inevitable. Libby Glover\, Michael Hough and David Tamulevich had been informally jamming with each other for 3 months in the Rathskellar of the Old Heidelberg Restaurant in Ann Arbor\, Michigan. The room had grown consistently packed with enthusiastic fans every weekend. They all agreed it was time the trio made it official and chose the name Mustard’s Retreat\, which was a tune David had written.  \nMustard’s Retreat has always sung the songs they enjoyed and cared about\, regardless of the trends of the music industry and pop culture. They are committed to simply being themselves\, not chasing fame or brass rings\, while delighting in and connecting with their audiences as if they were family. The honesty of what they present onstage and the extensive body of outstanding original songs and recordings all contribute to a fiercely loyal audience that continues to grow. “Music to cure what ails you” was how one reviewer in the 1970s described them\, and that is as true now as it was then. They’ve traveled more than a million miles and performed more than 6\,000 shows\, from pig roasts and pool parties to Lincoln Center Out of Doors\, The Barns at Wolftrap and the Kennedy’s Center’s Millennium Stage. \nTonight the trio reunites to celebrate the release of their new CD\, Between Black & White Clouds. \nPlease note this is an afternoon performance with a start time of 3pm!

SUMMARY:Mei Semones
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nOn the night of the Fourth of July\, fireworks over Mei Semones’ Brooklyn block were competing with something more primal. Up and down the street\, dogs answered each burst with a long\, ragged howl of their own. Semones\, alone in her apartment with her guitar while the rest of the city celebrated outside\, found she didn’t mind the solitude. The howling struck her less as a cry for help than as a kind of greeting: proof that she was never really by herself\, not with music always keeping her company. By morning\, she had the seed of the title track for her sophomore album\, Howl.  \n“Sometimes making music feels like howling into the universe\,” Semones says. “I make music because I like it\, because it feels instinctual — but it also connects me to people close and far. I like to think of this music as my howl.” \nAt 26\, the Brooklyn-based Japanese American guitarist and singer-songwriter — already named an Artist to Watch by The New York Times and Stereogum\, and Artist You Need to Know by Rolling Stone and The FADER — has developed a sound that brings together jazz\, bossa nova\, samba and grungy math rock without treating any of them as separate worlds. Her bilingual songwriting works in much the same way.   \nGrowing up in Ann Arbor\, Semones began playing piano at age four on an instrument gifted by her Japanese grandmother before picking up electric guitar at 11\, inspired in part by Marty McFly’s performance of “Johnny B. Goode” in Back to the Future. Semones also spent summers as a child in Yokosuka\, Japan — where her grandmother lived — attending a local elementary school for two weeks each year and spending long afternoons catching cicadas\, playing soccer\, building things with mud\, and searching for rhinoceros beetles. Those unhurried childhood experiences would later shape her 2024 EP\, Kabutomushi\, named after the very beetles she would catch with her school friends in Yokosuka.  \nIn high school\, she was introduced to jazz through greats like Charlie Parker\, John Coltrane\, Bud Powell\, Thelonious Monk and Wes Montgomery\, and around the same time she discovered bossa nova through João Gilberto’s recordings. She later studied music with a focus on guitar at Berklee College of Music.   \nHowl\, the second studio album by Mei Semones\, is out on January 15th via Verve/Interscope. \nMei Semones VIP Experience includes the below:  \n\nA Meet & Greet and photo with Mei Semones\nOne (1) VIP exclusive merch item\nEarly Entry To The Venue\nEarly Access To The Merch Table\nOne (1) GA ticket

SUMMARY:Michael McDermott
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nMichael McDermott’s brand of rock n’ roll brims with the kind of well-honed style and wisdom that can only come from a career on the road and a pedigree in the studio. Effortlessly blending natural folk sensibility\, pop hooks\, and honest rock\, McDermott’s music is as much for the outcast as the congregation. It’s an exploration of the dark corners of life’s journey and it resonates middle class truths through the passionate filter of a kid that grew up on Chicago’s Irish South Side. \nIf you are a fan of Springsteen\, Van Morrison\, John Steinbeck\, Patti Smith … McDermott’s inspirational rock is in your wheelhouse\, waiting late night with a guitar\, spare smokes and stories of the American heart.  \n“McDermott’s music helped me to find a part of myself that wasn’t lost\, as I had feared\, but only misplaced. That’s why we love the ones who are really good at it\, I think: because they give us back ourselves\, all dusted and shined up\, and they do it with a smile…Michael McDermott is one of the best songwriters in the world and possibly the greatest undiscovered rock & roll talent of the last 20 years” -Stephen King

SUMMARY:Lake Street Dive
DESCRIPTION:In the spring of 2025\, just a few short months after playing their near-sellout first show at Madison Square Garden\, and earning their first GRAMMY® nomination for 2024’s Good Together\, the members of Lake Street Dive – vocalist Rachael Price\, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney\, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese\, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss\, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison – gathered to work on new music for what would become their very first independent release\, and ninth album\, What About Flamingos?. It was a year and a half journey\, and rather than working with a topical theme\, the band’s mission was taking a new approach to their recording process: live in a room together. The idea originated with Rachael. She explains\, “Something we’ve definitely heard from our fans for years\, is that they love our live shows\, but I realized that we’ve never achieved a live recording. And personally\, I wanted to be a part of the recording process from the beginning\, instead of going in after the band had done the track\, and then singing over that. So I sent an email to the band with all my thoughts and reasonings\, and everyone said\, ‘Let’s go for it.’”  \nAs songs were being written for the album\, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney was inspired to write the title track “What About Flamingos?” after hearing a podcast interview with record producer Brian Eno\, discussing how awe-inspiring and unique life on planet Earth is. It  spurred her to write the mantra-like refrain “This might be the only place”\, and the song asks us to ponder everyday wonders we often take for granted (like flamingos)\, including the joy of being part of a band and making music with your friends for twenty-two years. This gratitude for what we have and the magic alive-ness of the “now” infuses the entire album\, and is embodied in the recordings.  \nMarking another first\, the band worked with two different producers\, on opposite coasts: GRAMMY®-nominated producer\, Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker\, Big Thief\, Cass McCombs) at Spillway Sounds in West Hurley\, NY\, and producer Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty\, Angel Olsen\, Dawes\, Margo Price) at his Topanga Canyon Five Star Studios in Los Angeles\, CA. While the Upstate New York session brought the close intimacy of a cozy living room studio in winter\, the second round of recordings in the warmer and more open L.A. environment mirrored opening up their approach as well. Rachael remembers\, “When we went to Jonathan’s\, it became a choose-your-own-adventure for everyone.” Bridget adds\, “We were a little more lenient with the rules that we had imposed for ourselves. While we wanted to get that magic of us playing together\, we realized it’s not gonna be any less magic if I’m wearing headphones and I can hear the bass really well. We shifted to figuring out what each of us needs.” Calabrese reflects\, “Keeping as many firsts in our process seems to work. Sometimes you swing and you miss but it’s kinda cool because you get this other thing. For us it was a reminder to follow our instinct.”  \nLake Street Dive’s instincts have led them here: an album that is a document of shared moments of being in the moment\, and the joy and freedom of sharing that with their fans. This is not only the most live album they have ever made\, but also the most ALIVE. Akie Bermiss puts it this way: “It feels like it’s finished\, but yet it still has the potential to grow. It’s a living\, breathing thing\, like an organism\, not a relic of last year. This album is a testament to the band being alive now.”  \nThis might be the only place. So what about friends making music together? What about Lake Street Dive? What About Flamingos?  \nLake Street Dive has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket sold goes to World Central Kitchen’s work providing meals in response to humanitarian\, climate\, and community crises\, along with organizations working to improve the lives of children around the world.

SUMMARY:Sam Lewis
DESCRIPTION:Sam Lewis has collaborated with everyone from Leon Russell to The Wood Brothers. Chris Stapleton dubbed him “a modern Townes Van Zandt”. He’s often labeled with some form of the word ‘soulful’ (some have even compared his voice to molasses)\, Lewis’ style meets at a juncture of many different genres however he’s discovered what most musicians spend lifetimes working for; the place where feel-good music meets vital social commentary. \nEVERYTHING’S FINE (2026) is Lewis’s 7th studio album featuring a more sparse and intimate approach filled with songs that live under an umbrella titled\, ‘Everything’s Fine’ which Lewis says\, “is kind of a blanket statement I have become obsessed with for while now…I love its duality and its usage whether it’s regarding the micro or macro of life…maybe everything’s fine\, maybe it’s not\, maybe it’s ‘fine’ in the macro sense but not at all in the micro sense or vice versa. I am definitely guilty of using it to define situations that are in fact NOT ‘fine’. We all have different thresholds of what may or may not be ‘fine’ but our unwillingness to accept discourse can lead to a further sense of disconnection if not properly addressed. ‘Everything’s Fine‘ is the most appropriate statement for the world I find myself living in at the moment.” \nThe Ark’s Artist Spotlight Series is made possible with support from Ford Philanthropy. It is presented live\, and also livestreamed on The Ark’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. \nTonight’s show is FREE (nonperishables accepted for Food Gatherers).

Why dwell on the past when we could just live in the present because the future won’t shut up about how bad it’s going to be? \nBut with This Is The Kit aka Kate Stables (songwriter / banjo strummer / pinhole camera lover / Winchester UK born Paris dweller)\, we’re going to have to give time just a modicum of consideration. Because not only is Kate still here and making albums of cataclysmic honesty and welcoming tonal embraces\, they are continuing to grow\, which is probably the only smart way to move forward through time. \nThis Is The Kit’s music places companionship at a premium\, so being welcomed into its space feels like an obvious privilege\, on record and in concert hall with her stellar supporting cast of Rozi Plain (bass)\, Jamie Whitby-Coles (drums) and Neil Smith (guitar).  And at this current point in our confusing history\, continuing to be here at all\, to stand tall and make music to gather to\, that’s a heroic act. Joyful survival as an act of time-wasting\,  I’ll take that any day of the week. Look to This Is The Kit to spend at least one day of your week this year\, I guarantee it will be time well wasted.

SUMMARY:Songs & Stories: An Evening with Radney Foster & Kelly Willis
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nTickets purchased for the postponed June 12 2026 show are valid for this date.  \nRadney Foster first gained attention as half of the duo Foster & Lloyd\, who with “Crazy Over You” became the first duo in history to top the Country charts with their debut single. He then established himself as a solo artist in the early 90’s with his critically acclaimed release Del Rio\, Texas 1959.  \nKnown as a songwriter’s songwriter\, his songs have been recorded by everyone from Keith Urban and the Chicks to Hootie & the Blowfish and George Benson. His own hits like “Just Call Me Lonesome\,” “Nobody Wins\,” and “Texas In 1880” continue to be played on radio and by bands around the world. \nHis most recent project For You To See The Stars is in two parts\, a book of short fiction\, and a collection of songs to go with it. He is currently working on another book of fiction\, as well as developing film and TV projects. \nSinger-songwriter Kelly Willis captured critical acclaim from her first release\, with a distinctive voice that conveys both tender heartache and smoldering heat. Born in Oklahoma\, she moved often as a kid with her Army Colonel dad. She started singing professionally at 16\, fronting the rockabilly band “Kelly and the Fireballs” in the DC area\, but it soon became clear she was more of a country singer. After high school\, she moved to Austin and It wasn’t long before she got on the radar of MCA’s Tony Brown\, who signed her after an introduction by Nanci Griffith. \nKelly’s recording career began at a time when Nashville was experiencing a creative resurgence with the likes of Lyle Lovett\, Steve Earle\, Foster & Lloyd and The O’Kanes. She recorded three albums for MCA that were critical hits\, but it wasn’t until she left the major label restrictions behind that she came into her own with 1999’s What I Deserve for Rykodisc. \nThe albums Willis has made since What I Deserve have only burnished her reputation as Austin’s reigning queen of Americana\, including being inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame. When not performing her own music\, Kelly tours with Brennan Leigh and Melissa Carper as Wonder Women of Country\, in support of their 2023 self-titled EP.

Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nWith a commitment to the accurate reproduction of The Beatles’ repertoire\, The Fab Faux\, featuring Jimmy Vivino\, Rich Pagano\, Frank Agnello\, Jack Petruzzelli and new member\, Jim Boggia treat the seminal music with unwavering respect and are known for their painstaking recreations of the songs (with emphasis on the later works never performed live by the Beatles).  \nFar beyond a cover band\, they play the music of The Beatles so impeccably that one must experience it to believe it. Imagine hearing complex material like Strawberry Fields Forever or I Am the Walrus performed in complete part-perfect renditions; or such harmony-driven songs as Because\, Nowhere Man and Paperback Writer. Add to that an injection of each band member’s musical personality and playing style making your classic rock record collection come alive before you.  \nFor over 25 years\, loyal audiences have been returning to see and hear just how The Fab Faux will solve a new song addition to the set list (Beatles and Solo Years selections) while either singing along to Hey Jude (with The Hogshead Horns and The Creme Tangerine Strings)\, closing their eyes and immersing themselves in the sonic landscape of Within You Without You (Jimmy V on sitar) or dancing in the aisles when the band channels the Cavern Club era. \nVIP seats include a ‘Fab Faux soundcheck attendance’ pass\, a signed commemorative poster and a pre-show Meet and Greet.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nTickets purchased for Kim’s rescheduled May 2026 show are good for tonight’s performance. \nIn January 2024\, Kim Richey found herself in Mexico\, gazing out at a sea of people singing along to “I’m Alright\,” one of her classic tracks. The three folks on stage with the veteran\, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter were also raising their voices in harmony. To her right sat Brandi Carlile\, to her left\, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Brandy Clark. The formidable foursome was participating in a songwriter’s round only half-jokingly dubbed “Titans of Americana” at Carlile’s female-forward Girls Just Wanna Weekend festival on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. \n“That was nuts looking out and seeing everybody arm-waving and singing along\,” says Richey\, still both incredulous and cheered by the memory of performing with that supergroup and later appearing alongside other Girls Just Wanna Weekend-ers Annie Lennox\, Lucius\, Allison Russell\, and Sarah McLachlan among others. “It was just like\, ‘wow’!” \nThe good news for fans of this particular Titan is a whole new batch of songs to sing along with and arm wave to with the release of her 10th studio album Every New Beginning. The 10 songs on Every New Beginning represent the full spectrum of the Ohio native’s gifts as both a revered songwriter who can leap from melancholy to mirthful in a single couplet — whose songs have been recorded by the likes of Brooks and Dunn\, Patty Loveless\, and Mary Chapin Carpenter — and owner of one of music’s truly celestial voices.  \nThat voice\, which Brandi Carlile has cited as formative in crafting her own style\, is a widely sought after harmony instrument and has been featured on scores of albums including Jason Isbell’s acclaimed Southeastern\, Trisha Yearwood’s Everybody Knows\, Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams\, Reba McEntire’s Starting Over\, and Has Been by Capt. Kirk himself\, William Shatner\, among many others.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nIn a career that has already spanned half a century\, Jorma Kaukonen has been one of the most highly respected interpreters of American roots music\, blues\, and Americana\, and at the forefront of popular rock and roll. A member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy nominee\, he is a founding member of two legendary bands\, Jefferson Airplane and the still-touring Hot Tuna. Jorma Kaukonen’s repertoire goes far beyond his involvement in creating psychedelic rock; he is a music legend and one of the finest singer-songwriters in music. In 2016\, Jorma\, Jack Casady and the other members of Jefferson Airplane were awarded The GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award for their contributions to American music. \nIn 2019 St. Martin’s Press published Jorma‘s autobiography\, Been So Long: My Life and Music\, written to express his life both in and out of the music world. As Kaukonen describes\, “My story is my story. Having told bits and pieces of it over my lifetime to a treasured few\, it was time to tell all to a bigger audience…From rehearsals and jams in small apartments and tiny back rooms to Monterey\, Woodstock\, Altamont\, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame\, the world of the Grammys and beyond… this is part of the road I live on. This is my embryonic journey and much\, much more!” \nJorma Kaukonen is constantly looking to take his musical horizons further still\, always moving forward and he is quick to say that teaching is among the most rewarding aspects of his career. “You just can’t go backward. The arrow of time only goes in one direction.”

SUMMARY:Alicia Witt - Album Release Show
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nTickets purchased for the November 1\, 2026 date are valid for this performance. \nBetween Heaven and Earth\, the haunting and deeply personal new album from Alicia Witt\, arrives August 28 via Thirty Tigers. Recorded live in New York City with producer Joe Henry and a band assembled specifically for the project\, the album exists in a space suspended between transcendence and intimacy\, channeling what Witt describes as “eternal unconditional love” and “the place suspended between heaven and earth.” \nThe album was profoundly shaped by the influence and memory of David Lynch\, whose impact on Witt stretches back to her first film role as Alia in Dune at age seven. “I can’t imagine who I would be without David Lynch\,” Witt reflects. “He is weaved throughout the fabric of my life.” Throughout Between Heaven and Earth\, Witt explores what she learned from Lynch “regarding love. The eternal nature of it\, the idea that only love is real.” She describes his presence as palpable throughout the making of the record: “David was with us every day in the studio. All six of us in the band felt his presence.” \nWhile widely recognized for her acclaimed acting career spanning film\, television\, and stage\, music has remained a constant throughline in Witt’s life. A classically trained pianist who supported herself as a musician when she first moved to Los Angeles\, Witt has long integrated music into her creative identity\, both through her own songwriting and in many of the roles she has portrayed onscreen. She’s released multiple full-length albums\, including Revisionary History (2015)\, The Conduit (2021)\, and I Think I’m Spending Christmas With You (2024). Between Heaven and Earth represents the latest chapter in that ongoing musical journey. \nFor Witt\, Between Heaven and Earth is ultimately about connection — to spirit\, to memory\, to other people\, and to something larger than ourselves. “Too often\, it seems to me\, people imagine love in a vacuum\,” she explains. “I know love to be eternal and unconditional.” The result is an album rooted not in bitterness or regret\, but in surrender\, gratitude\, wonder\, and the belief that “only love can change minds and hearts.” \n“What all of these songs have in common is that there is no bitterness\, no angst\, no revenge\, nothing resembling hatred or regret\,” Witt says. “This is my offering. May it bring you exactly where you need it to bring you.” \nPresave the album now! \nALICIA WITT MEET & GREET VIP RECEPTION \nPackage includes:\nOne GA ticket to the show\nPre-show Meet & Greet with Alicia\nAutographs (Bring your own up to 5 items\, or purchase items at the Merch table)\nLimited availability

Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nHazlett is back and bringing his band to town for ‘The Comeback Tour’ this coming spring. \nAfter abrupt hiatus due to vocal surgery he is on the mend and cleared to hit the road in the new year. Bringing the feels from past albums and some unreleased music to those that have tickets for the evening. Tickets purchased for the original date will be valid for tonight’s show. \nSweden-based\, Australian-born Hazlett returns to the road following the success of his latest full-length album\, “last night you said you missed me”.  Hazlett divulges: “When I started this whole thing I wanted anyone who starts to listen to feel like they’re part of this whole thing with me—growing and finding ourselves along the way.” Over the past several years\, Hazlett and his unique brand of Indie Folk have quietly built a devoted following through his heartfelt songwriting and captivating live performances. Whether it’s an intimate club\, historic theatre\, or on festival stages around the world\, his ability to create genuine connection with audiences continues to set him apart. From lush acoustic textures to stripped-back ballads\, anchored by songs like “doing my best”\, “Blame The Moon” and “queen of the season\, each piece unfolds like a page from a well-worn journal\, exploring themes of self-preservation\, distance\, yearning\, and quiet hope.
