DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nJames Keelaghan is an artist who has proven to be a man for all seasons.  As the calendar pages have turned\, for almost a quarter of a century now\, this poet laureate of the folk and roots music world has gone about his work with a combination of passion\, intent and intensity\, and curiosity. \nFusing his insatiable appetite for finding the next unique storyline Keelaghan also forges his pieces with brilliantly defined craftsmanship and a monogrammed artistic vision\, making him one of the most distinctive and readily identifiable voices of not only the Canadian scene\, but as a member of the international singer-songwriter community. \nAdmiration and respect for his work amongst his peers is best summed up by David Francey who recently stated that\, “James Keelaghan is a voice in contemporary Canadian songwriting that has helped us define who we are as a people. He writes with great humanity and honesty\, with an eye to the past and a vision of the future. He has chronicled his times with powerful and abiding songs\, with heart and eyes wide open.”

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nIn the early 1990s\, Billy led his two-member band\, the preteen King Brothers\, to local fame in the Ann Arbor area\, performing regularly and releasing five albums of mostly original material. Still living and working on the family farm\, Billy has continued writing and recording\, and\, with his brother\, started Holler Fest\, a three-day music festival featuring Michigan artists. \nBilly’s versatility as a multi-genre singer-songwriter is matched by his ability on a wide range of instruments from guitar and banjo to keyboards and accordion.  \nWithin the songwriting community\, he is well-known for his musicianship and originality. In 2007\, his composition\, “I Don’t Write Love Songs\,” was awarded the Grand Prize in the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest. Influenced by master songwriters such as Bob Dylan\, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon\, Billy crafts melodically compelling songs that maintain a sense of the timeless and classic. Sometimes catchy folk/rock\, sometimes searing blues\, but always direct and thoughtful lyrics – this is original music from an original life\, fully accomplished yet humble\, and most of all real.

SUMMARY:Le Vent Du Nord
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nOnce again\, Le Vent du Nord rises to the occasion with a new concert directed by Michel Faubert. Still inspired by its international “20 Printemps” tour (200\,000 tickets sold\, awarded “Best Traditional Album of the year” with FELIX 2022\, OPUS 2023 & Songlines Music Awards 2023 – Americas)\, the legendary Quebec quintet of singers and multi-instrumentalists is always on the move\, committed to the present. \nWith the release of their 13th album\, they tackle the theme of neighborhoods\, sources of universal inspiration. He opens his door to good neighbors. He hopes that ideas of sharing will flourish\, and the best for the common good. From those who are musical and enrich their repertoire: Irish and Scottish Celts\, American folk\, songs from Acadia and French-speaking America. From those with their neighbors\, the rivers\, to those that bear witness to history: battles won or lost\, abuses\, losses\, friendships and\, above all\, loves. \nFive voices in harmony\, podorythmy\, hurdy-gurdy\, bouzouki\, bombarde québé-coise and tunes of violin and accordion tell us that traditional music from here is rich\, lively and inventive.\nIt’s a show where you can let yourself dance\, be moved by the words spoken orally\, and recharge your batteries with the energy of these eternal travellers with deep-rooted roots.\nAn invitation to discover a world of humanities!

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nIn 2016\, Laith Al-Saadi won America’s hearts and a spot in the Season 10 finale of NBC’s “The Voice.” Now he’s bringing an authentic blend of blues\, soul and classic rock to audiences around the nation and the world. Laith Al-Saadi has always had the perfect combination of Midwestern hustle and incredible musical chops—honed at the University of Michigan school of music in his hometown of Ann Arbor\, and on stages across the country working with legends like Taj Mahal\, Luther Allison\, Buddy Guy\, Son Seals\, Gregg Allman\, and B.B. King.  \n“Laith is one of the most diverse talents we have\,” said Maroon 5 frontman and “The Voice” coach Adam Levine. “Incredible guitar player\, incredible singer.”  \nEntertainment Weekly called Laith Al-Saadi “a power performer who is so legitimate and memorable.”  \nAudiences have agreed\, propelling Laith’s album “REAL” to the top of the blues chart for five weeks and the top 20 album chart for two weeks. Guitar World Magazine has called Laith Al-Saadi a cross between “Danny Gatton and Buddy Guy at their best\,” and in 2006 Guitar Center crowned him one of the top four blues guitarists in the United States.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nJoy Clark’s songcraft\, paired with sophisticated progressions\, and themes of freedom\, love and self-acceptance gained her notice on the national folk and Americana scenes just a few years ago with appearances at Americanafest. She caught the attention of Grammy-winner Allison Russell and was offered a regular spot in her backing band The Rainbow Coalition\, earning her the chance to jam with superstars Brandi Carlile and the Indigo Girls. Talking to The Tennessean\, Russell described Joy as a “a brilliant artist\, writer and singer.” \nAnn Arbor’s homegrown friend and folksinger describes herself as “raspy\, emo acoustic soul-folk with a touch of optimism and a lot of humanness.” \nBeginning in 2005\, Michigan-based singer songmaker and multi-instrumentalist Kate Peterson has traveled the US and Europe winning the hearts of vulnerability lovers everywhere. For 10 years\, she spilled her heart onto hundreds of stages\, opened for her heroes and sparked thousands of laughs (and almost as many tears) with her folk duo\, Nervous but Excited. These days\, in between adventure travel\, Kate is a home-makin’ hobbyist who swaps her wood-working tools for a microphone for only the most special of occasions. \nThe roots of her music are still planted firmly in the Pleasantly Aggressive Folk sound that long time fans will find familiar\, but they will quickly notice a depth in her sound that only time and patience can cultivate.

SUMMARY:Rabbitology
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nEveryone has their own world. Fragments of moments lived\, translated and understood through metaphor and storytelling. Rabbitology is the project of (University of Michigan student) Nat Timmerman—a world that was pulled from her odd-running mind. A little land of the harebrained and burrowing. Venture into these eclectic soundscapes\, and here you will discover a collection of memoirs turned into fantastical sonic short stories. \nStrange but charming\, you’ll find these songs bundled in capes of star-dusted moss\, grounded in the natural world\, propelled by the raw and the real. If a song takes place in the woods\, then the woods the song will become; the percussion is the stomping of the leaves\, the synth is a warped fox’s cry. Thus arise the stories of dread-grey skies\, writhing vines\, and shivering pines—stories of a magically real folk horror. The dark and ugly become beautiful here\, and vice versa. In this world\, there is no such thing as “black or white\,” instead\, everything exists together at once. \nThis world is for the souls who never quite fit in\, who found themselves like ghosts\, drifting between realms\, never finding anywhere to settle. Simply follow the three-legged rabbit prints until you’re knee deep in this world’s tall grass. Here\, you’re invited to rest\, to dance\, to create\, to ideate\, even if your visit is only for a little while. Stay as long as you like. Make this world your home too. It’s a little unusual in here\, but that’s life! \nPresented with support from Bank of Ann Arbor

SUMMARY:Eliza McLamb
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nIt appears to be a trophy at first. Look closer\, and you’ll see the cover of Good Story features Eliza McLamb holding a makeshift award\, hot-glued together from scraps she and her mother salvaged. It is\, of course\, silver — a self-deprecating wink introducing the timbre of McLamb’s sophomore album. These last few years\, McLamb’s been parsing her upbringing\, the songs she wrote about it\, and the whole endeavor of the stories we tell about ourselves. “If you get really good at telling the story of who you are\, you become the story you told instead of the ever-dynamic\, ever-changing person you have to be\,” McLamb says. “I did really well telling the story of who I am\, but I began asking: What’s the point of it?”  \nAt only 23\, McLamb has already lived multiple lives. In her late teens\, McLamb found success via co-hosting the podcast Binchtopia and sharing songs on TikTok. She soon pulled back from the platform\, feeling it didn’t represent her actual ethos as a songwriter. Instead\, she signed to Royal Mountain and released her 2024 debut Going Through It\, a document of a complex\, traumatic childhood that led to searching phases — dropping out of college during the pandemic in favor of working on Midwest farms\, eventually leaving her North Carolina hometown behind for Los Angeles. It all gave her plenty of stories to tell on Going Through It. And now on Good Story\, she wonders how that process affected her. Yet the homemade trophy of Good Story’s cover is far from a jocular consolation prize alone. It’s a symbol of the layered\, accomplished writing McLamb arrived at as she interrogated everything she thought she was about as an artist.

SUMMARY:Max Gomez
DESCRIPTION:Singer/Songwriter Max Gomez grew up in Taos\, New Mexico\, where he fell under the influence of country blues early on and developed a songwriting style that was uniquely his. As a budding performer\, Max apprenticed in the rarefied musical micro-climate of northern New Mexico\, where troubadours like Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard helped foster a Western folk sound both cosmic and country. \nHe received critical acclaim upon the release of his debut album Rule The World (2013\, New West Records); and his subsequent EP\, Me and Joe (2017\, Brigadoon Records)\, contained a freshly minted classic\, “Make It Me.”  \nHe has shared billing on hundreds of stages with stalwarts of the genre like James McMurtry\, Buddy Miller\, John Hiatt\, Patty Griffin\, Tommy James & The Shondells\, Jeff Beck\, and Johnny Depp. Judging by the company he keeps\, Gomez is poised to emerge as a prominent voice of Americana’s next generation.  Max’s latest album Memory Mountain\, was released in August and is currently in the top 50 of the AMA / CDX Top 200 Album Chart.

SUMMARY:Chicago Farmer & The Fieldnotes
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nThe son of a small town farming community\, Cody Diekhoff logged plenty of highway and stage time under the name Chicago Farmer before settling in the city in 2003. Profoundly inspired by fellow midwesterner John Prine\, he’s a working-class folk musician to his core. His small town roots\, tilled with city streets mentality\, are turning heads North and South of I-80. \n“I love the energy\, music\, and creativity of Chicago\, but at the same time\, the roots and hard work of my small town\,” he shares. Growing up in Delavan\, Illinois\, with a population less than 2\,000\, Diekhoff’s grandparents were farmers\, and their values have always provided the baseline of his songs.  \nHe writes music for “the kind of people that come to my shows. Whether in Chicago or Delavan\, everyone has a story\, and everyone puts in a long day and works hard the same way\,” he says. “My generation may have been labeled as slackers\, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t work hard – many people I know put in 50-60 hours a week and 12 hour days. That’s what keeps me playing. I don’t like anyone to be left out; my music is for everyone in big and very small towns.” \nHe listened to punk rock and grunge as a kid before discovering a friend’s dad playing Hank Williams\, and it was a revelation. Prine and Guthrie quickly followed. The name Chicago Farmer was originally for a band\, but the utilitarian life of driving alone from bar to bar\, city to city – to make a direct connection to his audience and listener\, took a deeper hold.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nA relentless road warrior and masterful wordsmith\, Ryan Montbleau has spent the better part of thirty years cultivating a devoted audience on the strength of his ecstatic live shows and exhilarating sonic versatility. He’s collaborated with artists as diverse as Trombone Shorty\, Galactic\, Steel Pulse\, Tall Heights\, Martin Sexton\, Anders Osborne\, and George Porter\, Jr; shared bills with the likes of Tedeschi Trucks Band\, Ani DiFranco\, Todd Snider\, The Wood Brothers\, Rodrigo y Gabriela\, and Mavis Staples; and racked up more than 150 million streams on Spotify alone. NPR’s Mountain Stage compared his “eloquent\, soulful songwriting” to Bill Withers and James Taylor\, while Relix celebrated his “poetic Americana\,” and The Boston Herald raved that “he’s made a career of confident\, danceable positivity.” \nMontbleau’s freewheeling new album finds him exploring the full spectrum of his influences like never before\, touching on folk\, rock\, funk\, soul\, hip-hop\, and reggae\, all with a preternatural ease that belies the intensely focused craftsmanship behind it. The songs are sprawling and unpredictable\, grappling with a modern world perpetually teetering on the edge of chaos\, but the performances are relentlessly optimistic\, insisting on hope and joy in the face of it all. The result is Montbleau’s most vulnerable and cathartic work yet\, an album that acknowledges the inevitability of doubt and pain while at the same time celebrating our limitless capacity for growth and love. \nPresented with support from Bank of Ann Arbor

SUMMARY:Larry McCray
DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nLarry McCray is a powerhouse bluesman with a soul-soaked voice\, blistering guitar chops\, and a story embodying the spirit of his music. With his new album Heartbreak City\, McCray turns the page on a new chapter—raw\, joyful\, and deeply personal. Produced by blues-rock champions and Grammy Nominated duo Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith\, Heartbreak City finds the legendary singer and guitarist firing on all cylinders\, reconnecting with his roots while stepping boldly forward. \nFrom the first notes of the title track\, McCray reminds listeners why he’s long been hailed as one of the most expressive blues artists of his generation. Heartbreak City showcases Larry’s gritty vocals and searing guitar work\, evoking the decades he spent grinding it out in clubs\, pouring heartache and redemption into every solo. Elsewhere\, standout single “Bye Bye Blues” draws on McCray’s teenage years in Michigan\, when soul music still ruled the airwaves. Co-written with longtime collaborator Charlie Walmsley\, it nods to giants like Johnnie Taylor and Bobby Bland while delivering a sound all his own—grooving\, head-nodding\, and utterly timeless. \nThe release follows 2022’s Blues Without You\, which marked McCray’s long-awaited return after a seven-year hiatus. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues chart and was named the #1 Blues Album of 2022 by Blues Rock Review\, solidifying his status as a torchbearer of modern blues. In 2024\, McCray was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame\, a testament to his deep roots in the state and his enduring impact on American music. Now\, Heartbreak City builds on that momentum. It’s a record that reflects Larry McCray at his most self-assured -grounded in tradition\, but more fearless than ever. \nBorn in 1960 in Smackover\, Arkansas\, McCray grew up steeped in gospel\, soul\, and the electric blues of the three Kings—B.B.\, Albert\, and Freddie. He moved to Saginaw\, Michigan at 12\, where he honed his guitar style by blending classic blues with the psychedelic edge of Hendrix and the southern fire of the Allman Brothers. After years of gigging while working a factory job\, he was signed in the late ’80s as the first artist on Virgin Records’ blues imprint Point Blank. His debut Ambition (1990) was followed by acclaimed albums like Delta Hurricane\, Meet Me at the Lake\, and Born to Play the Blues\, solidifying his role in defining modern blues-rock through the ’90s and early 2000s. \nOver the years\, McCray has played alongside a who’s who of music legends —B.B. King\, Buddy Guy\, Albert King\, the Allman Brothers\, Joe Walsh\, Jonny Lang\, Levon Helm\, and of course\, Joe Bonamassa. He was named Orville H. Gibson Male Blues Guitarist of the Year in 2000 and won the Top Guitarist prize in the International Blues Matters writer’s poll in 2014. \nBut accolades aside\, it’s the soul in McCray’s music that keeps fans coming back. “I feel totally reborn\,” he says. “This new album lets me show the full scope of what I do —it’s blues\, it’s soul\, it’s real stories. This is who I am.”

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nJulianna Barwich and Mary Lattimore are longtime friends\, tourmates\, and two of contemporary ambient and experimental music’s most celebrated composers. Synthesizing their respective crafts within the walls of Philharmonie de Paris after being given access to the extraordinary instrument collection of the Musée de la Musique in partnership with the French label InFiné\, their new single\, “Perpetual Adoration\,” blends historical harps\, celestial synths\, and Barwick’s singular voice into an immersive electroacoustic soundscape of memory\, spirituality\, and timeless resonance. It is the first piece of new music from the duo since “Canyon Lights\,” a single released as part of 2021’s Adult Swim compilation\, Digitalis. \nTogether in improvised dialogue\, voice and instrument — Lattimore selecting an Érard double movement harp (France\, 1873) and Barwick behind a Sequential Circuits PROPHET-5 analog synthesizer (USA\, circa 1975) — the duo channels an immense volume of emotion drawn from a visit to Basilica of Sacré Cœur de Montmartre. On a rainy night\, they saw a sign outside the cathedral labeled “ADORATION PERPÉTUELLE” and entered the reverberant space where a nun was singing above organ drones during Sunday Mass. They carried the powerful scene with them into a session. The resulting performance honors both the moment and the history within their instruments: the gilded\, ornate Érard harp\, the first modern pedal harp\, remains open for innovation\, still carrying the simplest\, universally beautiful tone of human fingers on strings. The PROPHET-5 has shaped several decades of exploratory music\, and Barwick continues this legacy. Her skyward synth and vocal lines ascend alongside Lattimore’s tender harp strums\, creating a meditation on the restorative power of shared experience. \nOpener Fred Thomas is a songwriter\, producer\, and experimental musician living in Michigan. Over the past thirty years\, he’s consistently created new and evolving work\, touring internationally on a regular basis and releasing albums with Polyvinyl\, K Records\, Type\, Slumberland\, and many others. His music changes from project to project\, sometimes taking the form of literate narrative indie rock\, and sometimes veering towards soft ambient synthesizer sounds.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nFor the past 50 years\, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet has been making some of the most potent and popular Cajun music on the planet. Born out of the rich Acadian ancestry of its members\, and created and driven by bandleader Michael Doucet’s spellbinding fiddle playing and soulful vocals\, BeauSoleil is notorious for bringing even the most staid audience to its feet. BeauSoleil’s distinctive sound derives from the distilled spirits of New Orleans jazz\, blues rock\, folk\, swamp pop\, Zydeco\, country and bluegrass\, captivating listeners from the Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans\, to Carnegie Hall\, then all the way across the pond to Richard Thompson’s Meltdown Festival in England. \nTheir most recent album was titled “From Bamako to Carencro\,” alluding the cultural and migratory connection between Bamako\, in Mali\, West Africa\, and Louisiana (symbolized in name by the Lafayette\, LA suburb of Carencro)\, a connection that draws a sonic bloodline back to BeauSoleil’s roots. Since becoming the first Cajun band to win a GRAMMY with “L’amour Ou La Folie” (their Traditional Folk Album – 1998) and then a second Grammy in 2010\, “Live at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival”\, BeauSoleil has garnered many accolades\, including twelve GRAMMY nominations. They are regular guests on Garrison Keillor’s NPR show A Prairie Home Companion\, where Keillor has dubbed them as “the best Cajun band in the world\,” and their music is so integral to the Cajun culture that they have been featured on the New Orleans–based hit HBO program “Treme”. Critics unanimously agree that it is “bon temps\, every time they play\,” (New York Times).

Once upon a time there was a teenage boy working on his family farm in apartheid South Africa. The year was 1960. This boy loved to sing\, in fact he loved to sing so much that he allowed himself an impossible dream. In his dream he would create a group of singers\, from his family members\, to sing traditional South African songs. His group would perform all over South Africa and they would become the greatest music group his country would ever know. How could such a dream come to a young farm boy in a country rife with hardship\, violence and trouble? Well\, Joseph Shabalala was this young farm boy and his dream would become Ladysmith Black Mambazo.  \nThe year 2025 marks the 65th anniversary of Joseph Shabalala forming Ladysmith Black Mambazo. His group would not only conquer all of South Africa\, but would become a worldwide phenomenon\, winning more GRAMMY Awards (Five)\, and receiving more GRAMMY Award nominations (Nineteen)\, than any World Music group in the history of recorded music.  \nDuring the dark years of South African Apartheid\, Ladysmith Black Mambazo followed a path of peaceful protest through songs of hope and love. When Nelson Mandela was released from prison\, in 1990\, he said that Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s music was a powerful message of peace that he listened to while in jail. When Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize\, in 1993\, he asked the group to join him at the ceremony. It was Mandela who called Ladysmith Black Mambazo “South Africa’s Cultural Ambassadors to the World.”  \nThe group sings a traditional music style called isicathamiya (Is-Cot-A-Mee-Ya)\, which developed in the mines of South Africa. It was there that black workers were taken to work far away from their homes and families. Poorly housed and paid\, the mine workers would entertain themselves\, after a six-day work week\, by singing songs into the wee hours on Saturday night and Sunday. When the miners returned to their homes\, this musical tradition returned with them.  \nIn the mid-1980s\, American singer/songwriter Paul Simon famously visited South Africa and incorporated the group’s rich harmonies into his renowned Graceland album – a landmark recording considered seminal in introducing World Music to mainstream audiences. This brought the group to the attention of music lovers all over the world\, the beginning of a global musical career that shows no sign of ending.  \nAfter leading his group for over fifty years and approaching his seventy-fifth birthday\, Joseph Shabalala retired in 2014\, handing the leadership to his three sons\, Thulani\, Sibongiseni and Thamsanqa Shabalala. Having joined their father’s group in 1993\, their many years of training had prepared them in ways no others could be trained. Now\, carrying their father’s dream into the future\, the Shabalala Family continues the group’s success for the world to hear.  \nLadysmith Black Mambazo is Thulani Shabalala\, Sibongiseni Shabalala\, Thamsanqa Shabalala\, Msizi Shabalala\, Albert Mazibuko\, Abednego Mazibuko\, Mfanafuthi Dlamini\, Pius Shezi and Sabelo Mthembu.

Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nBritish guitar legend Albert Lee\, regarded by many as one of the world’s finest guitar players\, with a career spanning more than 50 years\, needs no introduction for country\, blues and rock fans. Widely hailed for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique\, Albert Lee helped to redefine country guitar for a whole generation of players with his song “Country Boy.” Albert’s many career highlights include two Grammy wins\, five years in the Eric Clapton band (at Clapton’s request Albert played the Crossroads Festival with Eric at Madison Square Garden) and stints with the Rolling Stones’ Bill Wyman\, The Crickets\, the Everly Brothers\, Joe Cocker\, Emmylou Harris\, Rodney Crowell and many more. Take it from Emmylou\, who says\, “When Saint Peter asks me to chronicle my time down here on earth\, I’ll be able to say—with pride if that’s allowed—that for a while I played rhythm guitar in a band with Albert Lee.”  \nRecorded at the legendary Konk Studios in London in March 2023\, Albert’s latest album Lay It Down is a love letter to some of his favourite artists and biggest inspirations. From Mark Knopfler’s blistering Setting Me Up to Jimmy Webb’s soaring piano ballad Too Young To Die\, to The Everly Brothers’ storming hit The Price Of Love\, Lay It Down sees Albert’s triumphant return to the studio\, recording live\, as one of the greatest guitarists ever.

SUMMARY:An Evening With Alejandro Escovedo
DESCRIPTION:POSTPONED! \nDue to illness\, Alejandro Escovedo has had to postpone this leg of his tour. We are working on rescheduling this show to another date. Tickets will be valid for the new date. \nAlejandro Escovedo’s New Album ECHO DANCING is an Adventure in Life. No one has really ever been able to define themselves and their music like singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo does. His life in music of all kinds sometimes feels like a swirl through the sky\, where his songs point out all the majesty and mystery of how he sees the world. The sounds he makes take him places that he might not even predict\, but once there\, greatness always follows. \nEcho Dancing is an experiment in how to use the past to shape the future. By recording completely new and repurposed versions of songs from his past\, Escovedo actually gets a chance to rewrite his own history. It’s also an idea that pushes growth into the present\, and asks an artist to see themselves anew.  \n“I always feel that a well-written song can withstand a lot of abuse\,” Escovedo says. It is an area of creativity that the man has always honored. “Turning a past song inside out leads to discovery of new ideas you might not have understood about the song\,” he says. “Even lyrical refurbishing has proven helpful and effective. It’s like interpreting your own work anew. The songs never seem to be complete. They are always evolving.” \nEcho Dancing makes sure Alejandro Escovedo’s evolving circle remains unbroken.

DESCRIPTION:Ticket prices on our website reflect all-in pricing for purchases made online or by phone.  This means the price you see includes the ticket price plus MUTO’s ticket processing fee. Tickets may be purchased with no included fees in person at The Ark during box office hours. \nShawn Colvin stopped the industry in its tracks with her arresting 1989 debut\, Steady On. The following spring\, Colvin took home the GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album\, establishing herself as a mainstay in the singer-songwriter genre. In the ensuing 30 years\, Colvin has won three GRAMMY Awards\, released thirteen superlative albums\, written a critically acclaimed memoir\, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule\, appeared on countless television and radio programs\, had her songs featured in major motion pictures and created a remarkable canon of work. \nColvin was recently honored with an induction into the 2019 Austin City Limits Hall of Fame\, alongside legendary artists Lyle Lovett and Buddy Guy. In a moving induction speech\, Jackson Browne praised her as “ineffable” — ‘that which is impossible to express in words’ — and extolled\, “Not many writers are able to do what Shawn does. It’s a very special way of relating what really matters. It takes an original to get our attention. Shawn is utterly original in her singing\, and original in what she speaks about in her songs.” \nOver the course of three decades\, Shawn Colvin has established herself as a captivating performer and a revered storyteller\, well-deserving of the commendation of her peers and the devoted audiences who have been inspired by her artistry. And as she enters her third decade as a songwriter and performer\, she continues to reaffirm her status as a vital voice in music. \nPlease note early start time of 7:30!
