SUMMARY:The Langan Band
DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, due to a family emergency\, The Langan Band has had to cancel this date. Refunds have been issued from original point of purchase. \nFor over 15 years now\, the three members of The Langan Band have been carving out their own lawlessly virtuosic path of sound; rampaging through the boundaries of conventional genre and cavorting into the territories of wild abandon\, purest intimacy\, and unconditional musical elation. \nThe trio were initially brought together by a deep respect of traditional song and music\, yet they discovered a mutual love of the evisceration and regeneration of these pieces into provocative and fascinating new compositions\, as was recognised by the band winning the prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival at the start of their journey together. This sound and process went on to inform the band’s now mostly original repertoire\, and has resulted in a musical experience quite unlike any other. \nAyrshire-born John Langan is found centre-stage\, seated on an explosive foot percussion rig of his own devising and fronting the trio with intricate fiery guitar rhythms and witheringly sweet and scathing vocals. To his right stands Alastair Caplin\, a classically trained violinist equally discerning in both the London Prog-Folk/Jazz scenes he occupied for years and also the blistering traditional reels and jigs of his native Outer Hebrides. Stage left is the domain of Angus-born Dave Tunstall and his double bass; from here emanates a seductive concoction of eerily-bowed soundscapes\, heart-stopping bass lines\, and in conjunction with Caplin’s blurred bowing a truly monumental wall of orchestral noise. The sound of the group reaches its zenith when all of these instruments are joined by the three voices singing together in razor-tight harmony to create an absolute cacophony of joy. \nWhilst it is possible to see the evidence of influences the band have drawn on and enjoyed (Trad. Scots music\, Eastern European Gypsy\, Bluegrass and American Old-Time to name a few)\, the true nature of the sound from The Langan Band is best described as un-pigeon-holeable\, yet utterly irresistible. \nIn 2024 the band broke onto the North American market with 5 tours of USA & Canada. Through huge mainstage performances at festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass and radio play such as the prestigious Mountain Stage Radio\, they are building a loyal and wild new fanbase across the Atlantic.

SUMMARY:Vance Gilbert
DESCRIPTION:Vance Gilbert’s performance on August 22 is being postponed while Vance recovers from cancer treatment. We look forward to having him back to The Ark when his voice returns. Tickets have been refunded from point of purchase.  \nVance was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. Starting out hoping to be an R&B and jazz singer once at college\, there he discovered his affinity for the storytelling sensibilities of the acoustic singer-songwriter thing. Word spread like wildfire about Gilbert’s stage-owning singing and playing\, and Shawn Colvin invited him to be special guest on her 1992 Fat City tour where he took much of America by storm and by surprise. “With the voice of an angel\, the wit of a devil\, and the guitar playing of a god..” wrote the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. \nMost recently he’s been the opener of choice for Mad About You/Stranger Things star Paul Reiser’s stand-up shows (50 +) for the last 7 years\, along with his own busy acoustic music touring and coaching schedule.  \nVance’s most recent album\, “The Mother Of Trouble”\, features Grammy winner Lori McKenna on background vocals\, Juno award recipient and Bonnie Raitt Grammy hit song co-writer Joey Landreth on guitars\, and Americana-Roots master mandolinist Joe K. Walsh.

SUMMARY:Jill Sobule presents: Songs from F*ck 7th Grade & more
DESCRIPTION:It is with a heavy heart that we share that our dear friend Jill Sobule tragically passed on May 1. \n\nJill was so excited to come play for her fans. We know Jill’s energy and positivity will be missed and we appreciate your support of her memory and the talent and gift she has left us all.  \n\nTickets will be refunded at point of purchase.\nJill Sobule’s work is at once deeply personal and socially conscious\, seriously funny and derisively tragic. In a dozen albums spanning three decades of recording\, the Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer has tackled such topics as the death penalty\, anorexia nervosa\, shoplifting\, reproduction\, the French Resistance\, adolescent malaise\, LGBTQ issues\, and the Christian Right. Her hits include “I Kissed A Girl”—the first openly gay-themed song ever to crack the Billboard Top 20—and the alt-rock anthem “Supermodel” featured in the film Clueless.  \nJill’s latest project is her New York Times Critics pick\, Drama Desk nominated autobiographical musical F*ck 7th Grade which premiered at the Wild Project in 2022. A cast recording will be released on May 2nd.

SUMMARY:Dean Owens
DESCRIPTION:This show has been cancelled. Refunds were issued through original point of purchase.  \nDean Owens is an adventurous\, award winning troubadour and a natural wanderer. His nine acclaimed solo albums\, mostly recorded in the US\, have seen him collaborate with some of the most respected musicians and producers around (including Al Perkins\, Will Kimbrough\, Neilson Hubbard\, Grant-Lee Phillips and most recently\, Gaby Moreno and Latin rock legends\, Calexico). \nDean’s music has been described as a unique blend of Scottish roots and Americana\, but in truth it’s hard to pin down to a single genre. With each album he has pushed his own boundaries\, constantly exploring\, as his travels have taken him from Scotland’s post industrial heartlands to Nashville\, New York\, and the panoramic vistas of the US deserts. Dean is a consummate live performer\, with a searingly soulful voice and a wealth of stories\, earworm inducing melodies and songs; the heart of a rock n roller and the spellbinding delivery of folk’s best storytellers.

DESCRIPTION:Due to unforeseen circumstances\, the Kimberly Perry show on September 13 has been cancelled. Refunds have been issued from original point of purchase. \nAs one-third of the Grammy® Award-winning superstar sibling trio The Band Perry\, Kimberly Perry has racked up sales of over two and a half million albums\, thirteen million singles\, and over 2 billion combined streams. As a songwriter\, her groundbreaking crossover #1 single “If I Die Young” (with its current 9x platinum status and over 200 million video views) helped Kimberly burst on to the world stage. As an entertainer\, she’s performed on TV’s biggest shows\, from late night’s most influential (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon\, Jimmy Kimmel Live\, The Late Late Show With James Corden\, The Late Show with David Letterman) to daytime’s most popular (Ellen\, Good Morning America\, The Today Show)\, as well as performing and presenting on multiple CMA\, ACM\, and CMT award shows and specials. SUMMARY:Johnny A. ***Cancelled***
DESCRIPTION:Due to unforeseen circumstances\, this show has been cancelled. Tickets have been refunded through the original point of purchase. \nThe name ‘Johnny A.’ might not be so mainstream\, but there’s no doubt that it’s synonymous with guitar. His passion began at the age of thirteen\, when he first saw the Beatles in Boston\, followed two years later by an in-person witnessing of Jimi Hendrix. From there\, he was hooked\, getting a cheap beginner guitar to try and play along with his early heroes — which also included Yardbirds icons Eric Clapton\, Jeff Beck\, and Jimmy Page. Soon enough\, Johnny A. got it.\n\nBy the 1970’s\, he was forming bands in the New England area\, drawing attention from several established musicians\, like Derek and the Dominos’ keyboardist Bobby Whitlock and Doug Clifford of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Johnny A. became Music Director of J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf’s outfit\, coordinating the onstage arrangements\, playing on several tours and co-producing Wolf’s 1996 album\, *Long Line.* What’s more\, he was even asked to join The Yardbirds as their lead guitarist in 2015.\n\nAll this is to say that Johnny A. has the chops\, and that’s not to mention his prolific solo career. Spanning three full-length albums\, Johnny A. has earned a Grammy Award nomination\, the honor of Boston Music Awards\, “Blues Artist of the Year 2010\,” and a spot in the revered Boston Music Hall of Fame. Ever the restless spirit\, Johnny A. continues to glide across genres effortlessly\, exploring elements of jazz\, soul. He still fervently carries on the tradition of the legends he respected as a teen.

SUMMARY:The Trials of Cato
DESCRIPTION:The remarkable rise of BBC Radio 2 award winning trio The Trials of Cato on the UK folk-scene has been the subject of massive critical attention. Dubbed “the Sex Pistols of folk\,” (J Davis) they pay clear homage to the tradition whilst twisting old bones into something febrile and modern\, with stomping tunes and captivating stories.\n\nNotably formed in Beirut\, Lebanon\, The Trials of Cato have blazed a trail like no other since returning to the UK in 2016. Memorable performances across Britain\, Europe\, and North America led to Mark Radcliffe hailing the band ‘one of the real discoveries on the folk circuit in recent times\,’ with their 2018 debut Hide and Hair going on to win the BBC Radio 2 ‘Best Album’ Folk Award. With their latest offering Gog Magog\, The Trials of Cato present their most daring music to date.

George Winston’s classic albums “Autumn” and “December\,” are perennial favorites\, along with “Winter into Spring\,” “Summer\,” 2017’s “Spring Carousel – A Cancer Research Benefit\,” two volumes of the compositions of Vince Guaraldi\, two volumes of benefit albums for the Gulf Coast disasters\, and six other solo piano albums. He recently released his 16th solo piano album\, “Night.” George’s compositions extend solace with an idiosyncratic grace. \n100% of merchandise sales at this show will be donated to Food Gatherers. SUMMARY:Black Jake & the Carnies
DESCRIPTION:This show has been cancelled. Purchases made will be automatically refunded by MUTO. Contact MUTO at muto-tix@umich.edu with questions. \nCOVID-19 FAQ \nThink of a carnival\, or indeed a carny\, and it’s very likely that images of bearded ladies\, mustachioed strongmen\, trapeze artists\, wolf boys\, monkey mermaids and the like will come flooding into your mind. Add a healthy dash of punk rock and oldie timey music\, and you have Black Jake & the Carnies. \nThese men create sounds that make Tod Browning’s Freaks look positively conventional. The glorious dichotomy is that the tunes are catchy enough to be disconcertingly accessible. You are\, indeed\, one of us. \n“The idea for Black Jake and the Carnies came to Jake in 1999\, when he had an ecstatic vision of a band playing fast-paced music on traditional instruments\, full of entertaining gimmicks\, props\, and crowd interaction\,” says the band. “The original incarnation of the band started in 2002\, and played one disastrous Halloween Show at Trinity House Theater before breaking up.  Jake kept the vision alive and kept writing songs over the next four years until one day in 2006 he decided to get a band back together.  A few guys who knew some guys down the street eventually turned into a new Black Jake & the Carnies overnight.” \nThe band\, comprised of Black Jake (banjo\, vocals\, kick drum\, tambourine\, songwriting)\, Kyle Kipp (guitar\, backing vocals)\, Wally Jarvis (hand percussion\, accordion\, harmonica\, backing vocals)\, Ozzie Andrews (bass)\, and Gary Ritter (Fiddle\, Mandolin\, backing vocals)\, are five hard-working men from Southeast Michigan who wallow in the imagery of sideshows and carnivals. “When you grow up in a small town\, you have hair down your back and everyone’s a redneck\, you get called a freak a lot\,” Jake told Detroit’s Metro Times in 2011. “So I get attracted to the outcasts\, the freaks\, being somebody who’s on display.” \nHe’s not wrong. When Black Jake & the Carnies played a prison show in Belgium as part of the Belgium/Netherlands/Germany tour in 2011\, the touring company said that they were the only band they’d ever seen who got the prisoners to jump up out of their seats and dance. And everybody knows how hard convicts are to please. \nPhoto Credit: Philamonjaro

Founded during the summer of 1982 by parishioners of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church\, the Ann Arbor-based non-profit has served a free meal to anyone without missing a single day\, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. \n“The Breakfast started as way to help people get through a deep recession 40 years ago\, but the need never went away\,” said Jim Cain\, founder of Acoustic Routes Concerts. “I can’t thank Lucinda Williams enough for sharing her talent and supporting the work of the Breakfast Program.” \nOver the course of fourteen remarkable albums\, three Grammy awards\, and countless accolades\, including Time’s Songwriter of the Year of 2001\, Williams is one of our most revered artists\, beloved for her singular vocals and extraordinary songs. \nHer latest release\, “Good Souls\, Better Angels\,” has electrified critics and fans. SUMMARY:Ocie Elliott
DESCRIPTION:This show has been cancelled. Purchases made will be automatically refunded by MUTO. Contact MUTO at muto-tix@umich.edu with questions. \nFrom the band: “We are disappointed to announce that we will be canceling all of the dates for our February tour due to the ongoing situation with Covid. However\, the good news is that we will be back with a bigger and better tour later this year! All ticket purchases will be refunded by the ticket provider. Keep healthy and well and we’ll provide an update with new tour dates as soon as we can.” \nOcie Elliott is musical duo Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy from Victoria\, B.C.\, Canada. The two have come a long way in a short time since a chance encounter in a Salt Spring Island café led to a spark\, collaboration\, and their ultimate partnership in music and beyond. That was hardly two years ago\, and Ocie has been busy\, releasing both an EP and their debut full-length album We Fall In (Nettwerk Music Group)\, playing with the likes of Mason Jennings\, Sons of the East\, Kim Churchill\, Roo Panes\, Current Swell and Joseph\, touring Canada\, US\, and Europe and having their song “Run To You” featured on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. \nIn the challenging internet age of streaming music\, Sierra and Jon have cultivated a fast-growing following by releasing a captivating series of live acoustic videos on Facebook recorded in the cozy confines of the couple’s Honda CR-V (which\, Sierra explains\, offers “organically well-rounded and self-contained” acoustics which lend an intimacy to their intricate harmonies). The novel approach has paid off\, with a million streams of their most popular tracks on Spotify and Apple Music\, as well as sold-out shows. \nWith gentle acoustic chords layered over gorgeously complementary voices\, which intertwine in gentle harmonies\, Sierra and Jon’s beautifully written songs explore\, of all things\, love and connection. The duo has been aptly described by one reviewer as “…the aural equivalent of indigo painted skies and the first summer stars.”

SUMMARY:James McMurtry
DESCRIPTION:This show has been rescheduled for June 14\, 2022. Tickets will be reissued automatically for the rescheduled date. Refunds will be available by request only no later than 30 days after the announcement of the new date. \nPlease Note: Proof of Vaccination is required for admission. By purchasing a ticket you agree that you and your guests will comply with all laws\, orders\, ordinances\, regulations and health and safety guidance adopted by the State of Michigan\, the County of Washtenaw and The Ark\, including any guidelines in place at the time of the show. Attendees who do not comply will be asked to leave. Policies will be updated as circumstances and requirements change in our community. Please review The Ark’s current COVID-related information before attending a show. \nCOVID-19 FAQ \nIn James McMurtry’s new effort\, The Horses and the Hounds\, the acclaimed songwriter backs personal narratives with effortless elegance (“Canola Fields”) and endless energy (“If It Don’t Bleed”). This first collection in seven years\, due August 20 on New West Records\, spotlights a seasoned tunesmith in peak form as he turns toward reflection (“Vaquero”) and revelation (closer “Blackberry Winter”). Familiar foundations guide the journey. “There’s a definite Los Angeles vibe to this record\,” McMurtry says. “The ghost of Warren Zevon seems to be stomping around among the guitar tracks. Don’t know how he got in there. He never signed on for work for hire.” \nThe Horses and the Hounds is a reunion of sorts. McMurtry recorded the new album with legendary producer Ross Hogarth (Ozzy Osbourne\, John Fogerty\, Van Halen\, Keb’ Mo’) at Jackson Browne’s Groovemaster’s in Santa Monica\, California\, a world class studio that has housed such legends as Bob Dylan (2012’s Tempest) and David Crosby (2016’s Lighthouse) as well as Browne himself for I’m Alive (1993) and New Found Glory\, Coming Home (2006). McMurtry and Hogarth first worked together 30 years ago\, when Hogarth was a recording engineer in the employ of John Mellencamp at Mellencamp’s own Belmont Studios near Bloomington\, Indiana. Hogarth recorded McMurtry’s first two albums\, Too Long in the Wasteland and Candyland\, for Columbia Records and later mixed McMurtry’s first self-produced album\, Saint Mary of the Woods\, for Sugar Hill Records. Another veteran of those three releases\, guitarist David Grissom (Joe Ely\, John Mellencamp\, Dixie Chicks)\, returns with some of his finest work. \nAccordingly\, the new collection marks another upward trajectory: The Horses and the Hounds will be McMurtry’s debut album on genre-defining Americana record label New West Records (Steve Earle\, Rodney Crowell\, Lucinda Williams\, John Hiatt\, Aaron Lee Tasjan\, Buddy Miller\, dozens more). \n“I first became aware of James McMurtry’s formidable songwriting prowess while working at Bug Music Publishing in the ’90s\,” says New West president John Allen. “He’s a true talent. All of us at New West are excited at the prospect of championing the next phase of James’ already successful and respected career.” McMurtry perfectly fits a label housing “artists who perform real music for real people.” After all\, No Depression says of the literate songwriter’s most recent collection\, Complicated Game: “Lyrically\, the album is wise and adventurous\, with McMurtry — who’s not prone to autobiographical tales — credibly inhabiting characters from all walks of life.” “[McMurtry] fuses wry\, literate observations about the world with the snarl of barroom rock\,” National Public Radio says. “The result is at times sardonic\, subversive and funny\, but often vulnerable and always poignant.” \nHis lauded storytelling — check out songs such as “Operation Never Mind” and “Ft. Walton Wake-Up Call” on The Horse and the Hounds— consistently has turned heads for decades now. “James writes like he’s lived a lifetime\,” said John Mellencamp back in 1989\, when Too Long in the Wasteland hit the Billboard 200. “James McMurtry is one of my very few favorite songwriters on Earth and these days he’s working at the top of his game\,” says Americana all-star Jason Isbell. “He has that rare gift of being able to make a listener laugh out loud at one line and choke up at the next. I don’t think anybody writes better lyrics.” McMurtry’s albums Just Us Kids (2008) and Childish Things (2005) back the claim\, each scoring endless critical praise. The former earned McMurtry his highest Billboard 200 chart position in two decades (since eclipsed by Complicated Game) and notched Americana Music Award nominations. Childish Things spent six full weeks topping the Americana Music Radio chart in 2005 and 2006\, and won the Americana Music Association’s Album of the Year\, with “We Can’t Make It Here” named the organization’s Song of the Year. \nOther accolades include a 1996 Grammy nomination for Long Form Music Video for Where’d You Hide the Body and an American Indie Award for Best Americana Album for It Had to Happen (1997). \nMcMurtry tours year-round and consistently throws down unparalleled powerhouse performances\, reflected in the release of two live discs: the universally lauded Live in Aught-Three on Compadre Records\, and 2009’s Live in Europe\, which captured the McMurtry band’s first European tour and extraordinary live set. Along with seasoned band members Ronnie Johnson\, Daren Hess\, and Tim Holt\, Live in Europe features special guests Ian McLagan (Faces) and Jon Dee Graham (True Believers\, Skunks). (Video of the performance is available on the included DVD.) \nPhoto credit: Mary Keating Bruton

SUMMARY:Jill Jack’s Birthday Bash
DESCRIPTION:Due to a band member recently testing positive for COVID and numbers on the rise\, Jill Jack has made the decision to cancel this show. Refunds will be issued from the point of purchase. \nThe Jill Jack Band wishes everyone a happy and healthy New Year and looks forward to seeing you at next year’s Birthday Bash! \nCOVID-19 FAQ \nJill Jack’s career has spanned decades and taken her around the globe\, performing solo and with her band at sold-out shows\, and opening for world-renowned acts. \nJack grew up in Huntington Woods and has lived in Ferndale for the last 24 years. Her work includes self-written songs in a style she broadly calls Americana\, encompassing elements of folk\, rock\, country\, pop and blues. She plays acoustic and electric guitar\, and describes her stage presence as friendly\, with a focus on storytelling and a dash of humor. \n“By the end of the show\, we will all be great friends\,” Jack said in an email. “As a musician\, I feel we can heal with music. Listening to music is an emotional experience. I want to bring all of those emotions to the surface\, while allowing the audience to be relieved of anxiety from their life. \n“My storytelling is very relatable\,” she added. “While some of my stories can be emotionally deep\, I always add a hint of humor. It helps people feel a connection\, and also that they are not alone in their troubles.” \nSince 1997 she has won 46 awards from the Detroit Music Awards Foundation\, a nonprofit that seeks to recognize Detroit-area artists at the local\, regional and national levels. Her career spans more than 25 years and 12 award-winning CDs\, as well as three new singles during the pandemic. \nShe has toured across the country\, appearing as a headliner at venues and festivals such as SXSW (South by Southwest)\, the Ann Arbor Folk Festival\, the 30A Songwriters Festival\, the WYCD Downtown Hoedown\, the Blissfest Musical Festival\, The Bluebird Cafe and The Living Room in New York City. She has played for audiences as big as 20\,000 people and as intimate as 20. \nShe has also starred in consistently sold-out shows at the historic Ark in Ann Arbor\, and opened for such prominent touring acts as Bob Seger\, John Waite\, Emmy Lou Harris\, Shawn Colvin\, Patty Griffin\, Dan Fogelberg\, Marshall Crenshaw\, Chris Isaak and Loretta Lynn. \nIn addition to live performances\, she has composed soundtracks for documentaries by the Emmy Award-winning director Keith Farnie\, and in 2011 she composed for the million-dollar ad campaign “I’m A Believer” for the city of Detroit. She has composed commercial jingles for such businesses as Thrifty Florist and Little Caesars. \nJack also believes in giving back\, with missionary work in Haiti and community service through the Detroit Children’s Choir\, the Michigan Arthritis Foundation\, Rock for Jobs\, Gilda’s Club Bras for a Cause\, the Girl Scouts of America\, Enchanted Makeovers and Lost Voices — a group that supports young victims of abuse\, neglect\, violence\, addiction and human trafficking\, through the gentle encouragement of song. \nShe said her time in Haiti has been especially meaningful to her. She has been there four times in the last seven years. \n“My first experience was the most intense\, because no one can prepare you for the sights and sounds of Haiti\,” Jack said. “Yes\, there is so much poverty. But Haitians pride themselves on their ingenuity\, their (faith)\, their music\, their art and their dedication to one another. \n“As missionaries\, we went where we were needed\,” she said. “Some days\, we did very hard physical labor\, building churches. This meant carrying buckets of wet concrete\, bricks\, painting\, etc. Other days\, we were assisting at orphanages\, and most recently eye testing and fitting for glasses. Delivering food\, clothing and essentials was daily.” \nBack at home\, Jack helps aspiring artist-entrepreneurs through her career coaching company\, Dream Big\, Inc. She started the company six or seven years ago\, working with upcoming artists to help them focus and reach their creative goals. Dream Big also has half-day workshops available for songwriters to help them craft their music. \n“It just felt like another extension of my work\,” Jack said. “I originally started the company to help young artists and their parents navigate their way through the music business. But it has turned into a much bigger mission.” \nShe is currently working with nonprofits\, established musicians who need encouragement and even senior citizens who want to leave their mark in music. \n“It is never too late to pursue a dream. The only thing that can get in your way is you\,” Jack said. “Each client is different\, with different needs. Some meet with me weekly\, and some biweekly\, monthly or quarterly. I am flexible and do not force. I am here to guide and be a support system.” \nShe also shared a bit of advice for those looking to make a livelihood out of performing. \n“It is not the easiest of career choices\, and maintaining it for 25 years is a labor of love. Perseverance and authenticity is my motto. Be yourself\, no matter what\,” Jack said. “The minute you try to be like someone else\, you have lost your authenticity and you feel it\, your audience feels it. Work from your heart. Not everyone will like you\, but they will respect your hard work and tenacity.” \nWritten by https://www.candgnews.com/reporterbio/andy-kozlowski

SUMMARY:The Sweet Remains
DESCRIPTION:This show has been cancelled. Purchases made will be automatically refunded by MUTO. Contact MUTO at muto-tix@umich.edu with questions. \nCOVID-19 FAQ \nThe Sweet Remains consist of three gifted and charismatic singer-songwriters\, each of whom contribute to the writing and the three-part harmonies that define the band’s sound. Driven by strong lyrical and melodic writing\, their songs easily appeal to fans of modern folk-rockers like Jason Mraz\, Ray Lamontagne\, and John Mayer. However\, it is their lush harmonies\, that distinguish The Sweet Remains from the throngs of guitar-toting troubadour\, harking back to supergroups of the 60’s and 70’s like CSN\, the Eagles\, and Simon & Garfunkel. When Rich Price\, Greg Naughto\, and Brian Chartrand met for a chance jam session in a Rhode Island hotel room in 2008\, the three instantly recognized a musical blend and kinship that would eventually overcome geography (and solo careers) to form The Sweet Remains. Since then they’ve toured as far away as Denmark and Germany\, and gained critical raves from the likes of the Boston Herald\, which wrote that “it’s been a long time since three-part harmonies this lush were yoked to songs this melodically gorgeous.” Come and luxuriate in the sounds of the harmony trio of the year! \n

SUMMARY:Skerryvore
DESCRIPTION:This show has been cancelled. Purchases made will be automatically refunded by MUTO. Contact MUTO at muto-tix@umich.edu with questions. \nCOVID-19 FAQ \nWith a mix of fiddle\, accordions\, pipes and whistles\, alongside guitar and vocals\, underpinned by driving bass\, drums and keys\, Skerryvore represent the best in contemporary Scottish traditional music. Their 6 studio albums demonstrate the wide range of influences the individual musicians bring to the mix – a unique fusion of folk\, trad\, rock and Americana\, with even some jazz in there! \nComfortable in the studio though the band are\, it’s on the road in front of a live audience that they really come into their own. Their live album\, recorded at Scottish venues in late 2019\, and released in summer 2020\, highlights this\, as well as giving a hint that there’s still much more to come for Skerryvore’s growing worldwide fanbase.
