We first heard up-and-comer London Beck last summer when they were selected as one of first three fellows in the Washtenaw County-based Amplify Fellowship program and performed their culminating concert livestreamed from The Ark’s stage. That experience meant that when we were putting together a program for the 2021 Ann Arbor Art Fair, London Beck’s name was one of the first to come to mind. Beck is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who has been headlining at local venues like the Blind Pig and Ypsi Pride. Their music draws influence from across the musical spectrum, including soul, jazz, pop, and hip-hop. As a singer, songwriter, producer/composer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist, Beck stands out among a new generation of creatives who are not only able to record and perform, but have a hand in every aspect of the creation of their storytelling soundscapes. Every release by Beck provides a glimpse into their thoughts on the future of the industry. Last seen as a stand-out contributor to A Michigan Tribute to Nancy Griffith, we are excited to present London Beck in their first full in-person show at The Ark!
This is a FREE show. Nonperishables accepted for Food Gatherers.
