An eclectic Americana power duo
Here's a musical meeting of the minds that you should get to know better! Will Kimbrough grew up on Alabama’s Gulf coast, honed his musical skills in clubs, moved to Nashville, and fell in with a songwriter crowd that included Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Little Feat, Steve Earle, and Jimmy Buffett, who says,”Will can charm a crowd whether fronting a band, or playing solo. That's why you see his songs on my albums and his face on our stage.” PopMatters compares him to Rodney Crowell and Todd Snider. Brigitte DeMeyer sings country with soul. Her sound is rooted in the South, with a bluesy emotional edge and a gospel-influenced intensity. The Morton Report says that she “combines the soft beauty of Emmylou Harris with the more rough and tumble take of Lucinda Williams.” Brigitte was born in the Midwest, grew up in California, and made her way to Nashville in 2010, and that's where she and Will Kimbrough crossed paths and began to work together. After several instrumental contributions by Will to Brigitte's songs, they've joined forces for a duo album, "Mockingbird Soul," and it brings all their individual influences together into a larger whole.
