Concert Sound Production

Class Dates: Sundays
(Tentative) October 24 and 31, November 7, 14, and 21
Time: 10am-1pm
Course Fee: $100

If you’ve ever had the urge to get behind the sound board, these classes are for you. Led by veteran audio engineers Kris Truzzi and Kaia Skaggs, the fundamentals of audio production will be covered through a combination of lecture and a few hands-on exercises. Focusing largely on concert production, this will be of special interest to musicians, aspiring engineers and music fans who want to learn more about the technical aspects of sound production. The course will cover the basics of concert sound from microphones to speakers, how it all comes together and what to do when it doesn’t. Working from real life situations, the class will walk you through the steps to create a concert experience.

When the course is over, you’ll have the knowledge to start getting hands-on and train to be one of The Ark’s invaluable volunteer sound engineers!

This five week course, which will be held at The Ark, will use a Harman International- JBL sound system, but the skills you learn will apply to virtually any sound system.
