THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE ARK: OVER THE TOP!
At the 25th Ann Arbor Folk Festival in 2002, The Ark launched the public phase of the largest fundraising effort in its history: the $1.3 million Campaign for The Ark. This campaign was established in 1995 to raise the funds needed to create and maintain a bigger, better Ark in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. Since it began, we renovated the upstairs of the old Kline’s Department Store into a 400-seat world-class listening room, expanded our programming to include more types of music, and increased the number of shows we present from just over 200 to nearly 300 each year. We’ve been busy! And our friends and supporters have been generous.
The Campaign for The Ark reached its $1.3 million goal in January of 2004. We couldn’t have done it without the help of The Ark’s incredibly dedicated and generous family of donors, supporters and volunteers. This Campaign has been a vital bridge to The Ark’s future; the first major step in assuring that The Ark’s legacy as a home for acoustic music will continue for generations to come. To everyone who supported the Campaign at every level: CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU!
