The Suitcase Junket is Matt Lorenz's throat-singing, slide guitar playing one-man-band! Matt became The Suitcase Junket in 2010 to test the boundaries of how much sound can come out of one performer without loops or electronic tricks. He honed his foot-drumming skills while performing with the junk-folk band Rusty Belle. His first album, "Sever and Lift," came out in the spring of 2010, and he followed it up with "Knock It Down" last November. Having mastered the difficult art of Tuvan throat-singing, he has added a suitcase bass-drum, a gas-can-baby-shoe beater, and a hi-hat, all the while playing a "dumpster-diamond" guitar. The Suitcase Junket comes from Amherst, Massachusetts, but where he's going nobody knows!
