"Promising" new music from a pure pop heartland songwriter
The piano-based pop of Anderson, Indiana-born songwriter Jon McLaughlin has been on an upward trajectory ever since he signed with Island Records and opened for Kelly Clarkson's My December tour in 2007. Jon's soulful songs have been heard all over television and film (that's him singing "So Close" in the Disney film "Enchanted"), and his "Smack into You" has been an Internet phenomenon with mash-up experimenters pairing own vocals with those of Beyoncé, and finding out that they stack up perfectly well! Recently signed to the Razor & Tie label, Jon comes to Michigan with a new album, "Promising Promises," containing his hit duet with Sara Bareilles, "Summer Is Over."
