"With her emotive voice and graceful stage presence, Hana Malhas is an important new figure on the Ann Arbor music scene. She delivers soul-stirring songs with great intensity," says Martin Bandyke of Ann Arbor's 107one radio. Hana Malhas herself tells us more: "I chase summer every year from the US (my current residence) to Jordan (my family hometown), writing songs about love/loss/my grandmother/your daughter/fictional characters/my ex/your bad day/your good day/our big changes. Then I’ll sit at the piano or pick up my guitar and sing you a song. Sometimes I’ll close my eyes, and sometimes I’ll look directly into yours. Mostly I’ll sing in English, and sometimes in Arabic. Sometimes it’ll just be us in a room (I might live in your iPod), and sometimes we’ll meet in a hall full of people, with my band on stage. No matter what the setting, we will be impassioned. And for every time you share this space of music with me, I will feel inspired and thank you for listening, and for pronouncing my name correctly (‘Hena’)." Charlevoix-born songwriter Jetty Rae opens.
