Chic Gamine is a quintet based in Winnipeg and Montreal, singing in English and French. There are four female vocalists, accompanied by a single male percussionist, the incredible and international Sacha Daoud. The members of Chic Gamine use their voices as instruments, effortlessly launching into intricate string arrangements, bass-heavy rhythm sections and lush harmonies. As songwriters they create a sound that resonates with soul, passion, and an unabashedly random and sometimes downright peculiar brand of humor, reeling audiences in with gospel, R&B, doo-wop, Brazilian forró and French chansons. With just two years under their always stylish belts, they’ve performed all over North America, learned the joys of fly-fishing , and just put the finishing touches on their second album.
