"Creative songwriters from Colorado and Ann Arbor!"
The Ark's Take a Chance Tuesday shows present up-and-coming artists at the low, low cost of nothing at all! Danielle Ate the Sandwich ("I just made something up," she says of the name) is the bespectacled and more than a little charming Danielle Anderson of Fort Collins, Colorado. This singer-songwriter landed on YouTube's set of featured videos a few months ago with her homemade performance of her song "Conversations with Dead People," and since then her online fan base has been spilling over into live, in-person appearances thanks to her great alto voice and slightly off-kilter songs like "Ode to Optophobia." She's joined tonight by Ann Arborite Theo Katzman, whom you may have heard playing guitar with My Dear Disco, singing with Red Arrow Highway, playing bass with Vox Maui, Yo!Soul, and Seth Bernard -- not to mention working as cashier/busboy at the late lamented Everyday Cook. Now he's adding singer-songwriter to his eclectic mix of talents, and we think he's a young musician to watch.
Admission to tonight's show is free, but please bring a nonperishable donation for Food Gatherers.
