"'The greatest party band in America' -- New York Times"
Lafayette, Louisiana's Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr. is a protégé of the great Clifton Chenier. Zydeco music blends Afro-Caribbean rhythms with blues, soul, rock, country, and Cajun French music. Buckwheat and his band, Buckwheat Zydeco, have taken this red-hot hybrid from the Louisiana swamps into rock arenas, to two presidential inaugurations, and to the Super Bowl halftime show. A master of the piano accordion and the B3 organ, Buckwheat is just the ticket to warm things up around here with a little Louisiana hot sauce! Recently signed to the blues label Alligator, Buckwheat is bringing a new release, "Lay Your Burden Down," featuring zydeco reinventions of songs by Led Zeppelin ("When The Levee Breaks"), Bruce Springsteen ("Back In Your Arms"), Gov't Mule (the title track), and even Captain Beefheart ("Too Much Time").
