"Two nights!"
Singer-songwriter-bluesman Jackie Greene's heroes are Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, and he has what those two have: an outward relaxed casualness that is really a monster talent, and a blues voice and instrumental technique that form the foundation of a new stage of blues-based song. Jackie has become an Ark favorite with his unique attitude and total mastery of very unusual vocal sounds and instrumental textures. This Northern California sensation was discovered at an open mic night by the owner of the Dig music label. He sings and plays guitars, dobro, piano, harmonica, and percussion. Jackie Greene is the real deal, a major new musical phenomenon who has toured with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, and Susan Tedeschi. Opening both shows is the unique pop-folk duo of Sam & Ruby: Sam Brooker and Ruby Amanfu. She's Ghanaian, he's from Green Bay, Wisconsin -- but their voices come together so naturally they even they sometimes can't tell who's singing what when they listen to their recordings.
