"An expert performer from a famous family"
James Taylor's arguably smarter brother and the enthusiastic pilot of a small Cessna named Bertha, Livingston Taylor made his first album in 1970. With sets that move from humorous numbers like "Not as Herbal as I Ought to Be" to unabashedly emotional ballads, Taylor connects with an audience like few other folk performers can. It might be because he's something of an expert in the field--he's the author of a book called Stage Performance, and he teaches at the Berklee College of Music. Or it might just be that Livingston Taylor remains one of folk music's most lovable and beloved figures. He comes to Michigan with a brand new album, "Last Alaska Moon," recorded in Nashville with some of the many top musicians who have admired Livingston's music over the years. The young Massachusetts songwriter and keyboardist Seth Glier, who has just released his MPress label debut, "The Trouble with People," opens the show.
