It's The Ark's unofficial pre-opening event of the Ann Arbor art fairs, with lots of music, food, and fun! Come kick up your heels and break in your shoes in preparation for the fairs (whether you're heading for the fairs or just walking to work because there's nowhere to park). We've lined up some local heroes to help us kick things off. Bill Kirchen and his band The Hammer of the Honky-Tonk Gods have been laying down Michigan's greatest Telecaster grooves ever since Bill's days with Commander Cody. The Third Coast Kings are a deep funk and soul outfit in the tradition of the 1960s and 1970s. And Mike Smith and His Cadillac Cowboys have been an Ann Arbor tradition for three decades with their country swing classics and originals. Be sure to bring the family, because the Townie Street Party is the place to be for all ages!
