"A singer-songwriter-virtuoso"

To call Milwaukee's Peter Mulvey an acoustic singer-songwriter and guitarist just doesn't cover it. He's equally -- and tremendously -- gifted as a singer, writer, and guitarist. Says the Irish Examiner: "Peter Mulvey is one of the most accomplished guitarists you're ever likely to hear … utterly original … it is nigh on impossible to explain him to the uninitiated … his intelligent and sometimes complex songs engage both hemispheres of the listener's brain." Peter comes to town by bike, as part of a Long Haul Tour that will take him on a recumbent bicycle (loaded with guitar and travel necessities) all the way to Massachusetts. The Long Haul and Peter's new "Letters from a Flying Machine" album share a common theme: both are a nod to future generations. "Letters" is a collection of original songs, plus spoken-word recordings of four of the many letters Peter has written to his nieces and nephews since they were born. The letters and songs work together to assert that love is what outlasts us all; a message he’s hoping to convey to the generations following his. Fellow songwriter Brianna Lane will also travel the entire tour by bicycle as the opening act.

Peter will take apart songs from the latest batch, delving into melody, lyric, single-string theory, notebooks, tape recorders, creative mulch, inspiration, cultivation, and fruition. There will also be thoughts on forgetting all this in order to just play.
