"A Southern roots-country trio arrives"
Says Jeff Styles of the Chattanooga Pulse: "The Lovell Sisters play like pros, sing like angels, look like models, and are one good CMT video away from stardom." You might compare this Calhoun, Georgia, sister trio to the Dixie Chicks, except that the oldest Lovell sister, fiddler Jessica, just recently turned 21. (Resophonic guitarist Megan is 19, and mandolinist Rebecca is 17.) With great trio harmonies and a sound drawing on bluegrass, country, and contemporary acoustic music, they do bring the pre-stardom Chicks to mind. The Lovell Sisters won the "A Prairie Home Companion" National Teen Talent Competition 2005 and released their debut album, "When Forever Rolls Around," later that year. Their blazing cover of "Folsom Prison Blues" is really something to hear, and all in all the Lovell Sisters are new Southern sensations!
