"A blues duo to beat the band"
Peter Madcat Ruth is one of the best harmonica players on earth, a mainstay of Ann Arbor's blues scene since the 1970s and a carrier of tradition who learned his art directly from Chicago's masters of the blues harmonica. Shari Kane is a blueswoman extraordinaire, a guitarist familiar with an astonishing range of acoustic fingerstyle and electric guitar sounds. Since these two musicians joined forces and began performing as Madcat & Kane in 1990, they've become an institution in Ann Arbor music and a major force in the blues scene nationally. Madcat's new "More Real Folk Blues" album also features harmonicas, ukulele, jaw harps, baritone guitar, banjo, banjo ukulele, high hat, cowbell, wood block, shakers, guiro, tambourine, and brushes on a pizza box, and, of course, vocals, so this is a concert in which just about anything could happen!
