"A British folk-rock icon!"
Ever since his days with the pioneering folk-rock band Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson has gone his own way. If he so desired, he could spend his time as a singer-songwriter, performing and peddling his grim, brilliant songs of love gone wrong. If he chose to, he could just play his guitar; he's one of the best guitarists on the planet, and when it comes to making a guitar part of a song, he's unmatched. But what really gets you about Richard Thompson is the sheer creativity of the man. Will he play a 14th-century ballad about the Battle of Agincourt? a rockabilly or Cajun rave-up? Will he cover "Oops, I Did It Again"? Named one of the top 20 guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone, Richard Thompson is making a very rare local appearance that's not to be missed!
Opener: The Devil Makes Three
Tonight's show is sponsored by Maggie's Functional Organics.
