"Fearless songs from a New England sensation"
Folk institution Ellis Paul has called Antje Duvekot (AHNT-yuh DOO-va-kott) the next great American folk singer-songwriter, and Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone says she's a "terrific writer and singer, with the instincts to do things right, over and over, and over." Born in Germany, Antje came to the U.S. as a teen. Following the path of Natalie Merchant, Dar Williams, and Patty Griffin, she developed a sound all her own. The Boston Globe says that she's "utterly unafraid to mine the darkest corners of her life for songs that turn fear into resilience and isolation into community.” Antje has won the Kerrville Folk Festival's Best New Folk Award, and a Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act. Her new song, "Merry Go Round," was heard in a Bank of America Super Bowl commercial, and the word "viral" keeps coming up in descriptions of her ballooning renown.
