"Get this party started!"
It's the opening event of the Ann Arbor art fairs, with lots of music, food, and fun! Come kick up your heels and break in your shoes in preparation for the fairs ahead. Some nationally known musicians will be on hand to help us kick off the festivities. Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys have been enthusiastic ambassadors of Cajun music ever since Riley left the band of the great Dewey Balfa to strike out on his own in 1988. Mifuné is an eight-piece Cleveland outfit that calls their style "Afro-Electronique." And some of Ann Arbor's finest high school percussionists will start things off with a bang. Bring the family, because the Townie Street Party is the place to be for all ages!
