"A breakthrough acoustic Americana trio--from overseas!"
The Greencards--one English fiddler and two Australian singer-instrumentalists--push the boundaries of Americana and bluegrass music, creating a sound that's all their own. Formed in Austin in 2004, they've toured with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. Fiddler Eamon McLoughlin, vocalist Carol Young, and mandolinist Kym Warner are amazing virtuoso talents, but the trio is equally adept at sad, inward-looking numbers that draw from alternative country and folk styles. "If you like Nickel Creek and the Dixie Chicks--bands that can really play and sing--then you’ll love The Greencards," says Kevin Connor of Austin's KGSR-FM radio. Fresh from an appearance at the giant Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee, The Greencards have made the transition from newcomers to major talents of the Americana scene.
Judd Hughes will open this evening's show.
