"Songwriters in the round!"
Rose Cousins just might be Nova Scotia's answer to Iris DeMent. Says Lifestyle Nova Scotia: "Cousins writes songs strong on story, melody, and honest observations . . . . that demand an unaffected but beautiful voice." Red House label songwriter and recording artist Meg Hutchinson grew up in western Massachusetts and now lives in Boston. Her tough, honest songs about American culture and American tragedy have won numerous songwriting awards in the U.S., Ireland and UK. Massachusetts songwriter Rose Polenzani made auspicious debuts in 1998 at the Newport and Lilith Fair festivals, and she's been touring and recording ever since. Her latest recording, "August," has been inspiring poetic critical flights like this one from Time Out New York: "Evocative stories that one wants to curl up with, like a cherished book." These three songwriters will be appearing in the round, for the low, low cost of zero dollars.
