"Wilco's experimental and unpredictable guitarist"
Nels Cline can do almost anything on a guitar. Best known as a member of the great alt-country group Wilco, he has performed on more than 100 album in genres ranging from country to noise. In many of Nels's solo shows he investigates the outer limits of jazz, free improvisation, and minimalist experimentation, often with his group the Nels Cline Singers (their first album was "Instrumentals"). He's recorded a modern version of John Colrane's classic free jazz album "Interstellar Space"--and he's performed with Willie Nelson. We're not totally sure what's going to happen on this show, but we can't wait to find out. Have to have a one-phrase description? Rolling Stone called Nels Cline "the Avant Romantic."
