"Thoughtful songwriting from a Midwestern favorite"
A former Detroit-area songwriter (she and her husband recently moved to Fort Wayne) who has garnered lots of national attention, Jan Krist began writing music and performing in folk clubs in 1980. By 1991 she had made a splash at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and she's a two-time Detroit Music Award winner. Entertainment Weekly praised the "breathtaking leaps" of Krist's voice and opined that she "makes soul-searching more enjoyable than it has any right to be." Her songs take on big themes, including religious ones, yet her way with a hook is second to none. Jan promises the appearance of a new solo acoustic CD, so you can be the first to hear new music from this always thoughtful Ark favorite.
