"A major new star of the bluegrass fiddle"
Four-time International Bluegrass Music Association Fiddler of the Year award winner Michael Cleveland brings his high-energy band Flamekeeper to The Ark for an evening of state-of-the-art traditional bluegrass! Cleveland is a former member of Rhonda Vincent's band the Rage, and he's performed with Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, Doc Watson, Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, J.D. Crowe, and a roster of other musicians whom you might call the best in the business. Mike first picked up a fiddle at age four and basically never looked back; at 27 he's a veteran of his instrument and a really high-powered player. His Rounder-label album "Let 'er Go, Boys," also took home IBMA Instrumental Album of the Year honors, and it's been one of the most talked-about bluegrass releases of the past year. Michael has recently added veteran bluegrass vocalist and bassist Marshall Wilborn to his band, and he's bringing music from a new album to Michigan.
