"'Blues doesn't get any better than this'--BlueSpeak"
A real treasure of American roots music, guitarist, singer, and harmonica player John Hammond has amassed an enormous blues songbag during his decades-long career. His father was the legendary Columbia records talent scout John Hammond, and he's spent a lifetime immersed in acoustic country blues. In that genre he's one of the greatest virtuosos of all time. But he's kept on growing as a musician ever since he first came on the scene in the 1960s, and you can never quite know what he's going to do next. Just in the last few years he's started writing songs of his own, and there are five of them on his recent "Push Comes to Shove" album--a daring step forward that sees Hammond collaborating with producer G. Love and venturing into unique blues/hip-hop fusions.
