Singer-songwriter-bluesman Jackie Greene's heroes are Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, and he has what those two have: an outward relaxed casualness that is really a monster talent, a blues voice that forms the foundation of a whole new kind of poetry. Jackie has become an Ark favorite with his unique attitude and total mastery of very unusual vocal sounds and instrumental textures. This Northern California sensation was discovered at an open mic by the owner of the Dig music label. He sings and plays guitars, dobro, piano, harmonica, and percussion. Jackie Greene is the real deal, a major new musical phenomenon! He comes to The Ark with his long-awaited and just-released new album, "Giving Up the Ghost." Tim Bluhm opens this evening.
