"'One of the finest singers and songwriters of our time'--Pete Seeger"
Charlie King is a musical storyteller and political satirist, singing and writing passionately about the extraordinary lives of ordinary people. He's been a central figure in folk music and a steadfast voice for peace and justice for more than 40 years. His songs have been recorded by Pete Seeger, Holly Near, Ronnie Gilbert, John McCutcheon, Arlo Guthrie, Peggy Seeger, Chad Mitchell, and Judy Small, among others, and in 1998 he shared the Peacemakers Award from the War Resisters League with Odetta. "If we had more Charlie Kings in the world," says Peggy Seeger, "I'd be less worried." Tonight's concert is a benefit for the Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice.
