"Personal material from a Michigan rock legend"
Brian Vander Ark was the lead singer of the Verve Pipe, which became one of Michigan's biggest rock bands of the last decade with songs like the number-one hit "The Freshmen." In 2001 he appeared as part of the band Blood Pollution in the Mark Wahlberg movie "Rock Star." Then he lit out on his own, selling all his possessions and rediscovering his love of performing. He has charisma to spare! Brian described his first solo release, "Resurrection," as "an homage to the singer-songwriters of the seventies. storytelling songs, and whatnot." His second album, "Angel, Put Your Face On," took up themes of family, love, and loss, and tonight you can pick up a copy of Brian's much-awaited (and as yet untitled) brand new release. Brian Vander Ark last appeared in southeast Michigan as part of the 2008 Ann Arbor Folk Festival.
