"'Edgy and engaging'--Ottawa Citizen"
Natalia Zukerman, the daughter of classical musicians Eugenia and Pinchas Zukerman, found her own style when she took up slide guitar. Her songs are strong yet delicate, gentle yet insistent. You can call them folk music if you like, but there's jazz there too, and blues, and a soulfulness that you can't quite put into words. Whether on stage or on record, she presents herself just as she is--with no gimmicks, no flashy pyrotechnics, only solid musical craft topped with a smoky, come-hither sultriness that's really phenomenal. Says Andy Friedman of The New Yorker: "Natalia's voice could send an orchid into bloom, while her guitar playing can open a beer bottle with its teeth." Natalia Zukerman last appeared in Ann Arbor as part of the 2008 Ann Arbor Folk Festival.
